Cocks Lloyd are pleased to announce that they have chosen Anker Radio as their chosen charity for 2018/19.

We will be holding several fundraising events in future months, our main event being the popular quiz night in November.

Anker Radio (Nuneaton Area Hospital Broadcasting Service) has been broadcasting to the George Eliot Hospital since November 1980.

They are a registered charity, run by enthusiastic volunteers, the service could not operate without sponsorship and donations. It is an invaluable service to the patients, staff and visitors, to inform them of events in the hospital and local area, as well as boosting the morale of everybody in the hospital.

The studios are based in the maternity block, they also have a mobile studio which can be set up at a venue anywhere in the area, to take Anker Radio into the community at large.

The equipment is very expensive to replace and the main studios desperately need new up to date reliable equipment

As well as broadcasting within the hospital the station can be picked up on 1386AM and the internet.

The shows vary and the request shows have two purposes, firstly to entertain the audience by playing requests and secondly, and more importantly, to enable the volunteers to visit the wards before each show to collect requests and interact with the patients.

There are also regular sports shows with live commentary from Nuneaton Town, Coventry City and Nuneaton Rugby team matches.

Cocks Lloyd hope that this year will be another successful year raising vital funds for a well deserving charity.
